You're in the right place.

Welcome, I’m Happy You're Here!

If you're reading this, you're likely feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or burned out, and you're searching for something that addresses the root causes. You want to understand what's happening in your body, mind, and spirit, not another mindset hack or self-care checklist.

I understand. I've been there. I know what it's like to feel disconnected from yourself, stuck in survival mode, and wondering if you'll ever feel calm, alive, and connected.

I created Shine Brighter because I believe midlife women deserve more than symptom management and quick fixes. You deserve body-first, trauma-informed healing that reconnects you with yourself and helps you step into the feminine leadership, purpose, and aliveness you're meant for.

MEET THE FOUNDER

hello, I'm Jeannie!

Midlife women are among the most amazing, capable, intelligent, and purpose-driven people I know. Yet they're burning out at alarming rates, especially moms and leaders. Not because they're weak or lack ambition, but because our systems and cultures aren't designed to support them.

From my own experience and from supporting other women, I know that midlife, while it can bring symptoms and challenges, isn't a crisis. It's a threshold. A feminine initiation. It's an opportunity for healing and transformation. A passage into the next season of your life, and the next phase of your power and leadership.

I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to this work. I know what it's like to be in survival mode, and I know what it takes to heal. I know what it's like to be a mom and to be a leader. And I know how to guide midlife women through that journey. Not as someone who has it all figured out, but as someone who's walked the path and knows the way.

My story

from burnout, to Embodied Wisdom

For over 25 years, I worked in higher education as a career counselor, academic advisor, director, and advocate for student well-being. I was dedicated to helping others recognize their potential and navigate transitions. I was successful and loved it.

But behind the scenes, I was an exhausted, anxious mom caught in a cycle of overwork, stress, and self-sacrifice. I kept pushing and overriding my body's signals. I told myself I just needed to rest more, manage my time better, and try harder.

I tried productivity hacks and systems, managed my time and calendar, and immersed myself in personal development, hoping to fix myself. I had a persistent sense that something was off and often felt like I was failing as both a mother and a leader.

Then, at age 40, my body said enough, and I was forced onto my healing journey. This was also when I entered perimenopause, though I didn't know it at the time. I had no idea that perimenopause could resurface old trauma or that hormonal shifts could fundamentally affect the nervous system, or that the female nervous system is nuanced. All I knew was that I was suddenly navigating severe anxiety, depression, PTSD, and the weight of unprocessed trauma I'd been carrying for decades. I had no understanding of what was happening in my body or why.

After several years of healing, the combination of being a mother, working, and managing my physical and mental health became too much, and burnout crept in. I had to leave my job, and I ended up in a health crisis that forced me to stop completely. The systems I'd been operating in, the constant productivity, the endless caregiving, and the self-abandonment disguised as dedication, finally stopped me.

But that breaking point became my initiation and a catalyst for revealing and expressing more of my True Self.

Through body-first healing, nervous system repair, somatic practices, and trauma therapy, I began to understand what had actually happened. I wasn't weak. I wasn't failing. My nervous system had been running on survival mode for so long that it couldn't regulate anymore. And no amount of positive thinking or self-care was going to fix that.

I finally understood what perimenopause had done. The hormonal shifts hadn't just caused physical symptoms; they'd amplified the dysregulation in my nervous system and brought unprocessed trauma to the surface. This wasn't failure. It was my body asking me to heal what I'd been carrying for decades.

I had to reconnect with my body. I had to learn to listen to it, honor it, and trust it. I had to reclaim my sovereignty.

Now, as a postmenopausal woman, I've lived through the full arc of this transition, from perimenopause through menopause and beyond. I know firsthand that midlife is a feminine initiation and that each phase shifts the female nervous system, challenges you, and grows your capacity, calling you into a deeper, more intimate relationship with your body and revealing more of your True Self.

As I continued to heal, I realized: this is what midlife women need, particularly moms. Not another productivity hack. Not another self-help program. But body-first, trauma-informed healing that addresses what's happening in their female nervous systems and honors the hormonal and neurological shifts of perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause.

Because most women, like I was, have no idea that perimenopause and menopause affect the nervous system, resurface trauma, and change everything about how we regulate. Without that understanding, we blame ourselves. We think we're failing, and we believe something's wrong with us.

But nothing is wrong. We're not broken. We're just not being given the kind of support, understanding, and guidance we need to move through this initiation.

That's why I created Shine Brighter.

Guiding Truths...

  • I believe midlife isn't a crisis. It's a threshold into power.

  • I believe burnout isn't personal failure. It's your body refusing to participate in systems that were never designed to support you.

  • I believe post-reproductive women are meant to lead, not fade into the background.

  • I believe healing is political. When you reconnect with your body and reclaim your sovereignty, you disrupt the systems that kept you small.

  • I believe the female nervous system is nuanced, cyclical, relational, and deeply intelligent, and honoring that changes everything.

  • I believe you don't need to be fixed. You need to be seen, supported, and given the practices to come home to yourself.

You deserve body-first, trauma-informed healing. Not just another mindset hack or to-do list, but genuine support that addresses root causes and what's happening in your body and female nervous system.
